Surgery & first steps
1–1.5 hour operation. Spinal anaesthesia with sedation, local anaesthetic and ice cooling. Aim to mobilise the same day.

Ward recovery & discharge
X-ray and bloods. Physiotherapy gets you walking with crutches and practising stairs. Most patients home within 1–2 days.

Wound reviewed. No clips or external sutures to remove — intradermal dissolving stitches used in virtually all cases. Clexane ends; aspirin 150mg begins.

Consultant review & driving
Mr Kozdryk reviews progress, X-rays and bloods. Most patients discharged from follow-up here. Return to driving if emergency stop pain-free — test in empty car park first.
